Scones
Ingredients
3 cups plain flour
6 teaspoons Baking Powder
¼ teaspoon salt
75g butter
1 to 1 ½ cups milk
Method
- Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl
- Cut butter in until it resembles fine breadcrumbs
- Add milk and mix quickly with a knife to a soft dough
- Knead a few times
- Place baking paper on tray.
- Press scone dough onto this. cut into 12 pieces.
- brush with milk
- Bake at 180c for 10 minutes
Variations
- Cheese scones
Add ¾ cup grated cheese, pinch of cayenne pepper to flour.
Before baking top with a little cheese
- Sultana scones
Add ¾ cup sultanas to flour
